The Secret movie was an awesome example of how the law of attraction can summon the universal powers to manifest people situations and material things into your life.

All of the presenters had compelling stories that described in detail how their lives changed once they applied the secret principals.

I watched the movie several times only to discover the secret was never revealed nor did they explain how to actually make the law of attraction work in your favor.

I searched for a year and finally discovered exactly how the secret law of attraction works.

Anybody can put the principals to work for them and change their life dramatically in a short period of time.

It’s true, they are laws and they work all the time but its your choice to make them work for you and not against you.

I thought of this same thing this week Jerry. It came to me as I was trying to justify to my lawn and garden guy why I wanted to spread my own mulch. It's not only to save the money, it's to give my life balance

When I'm out in the yard working it may look like I'm busting my butt. However, what I am doing is more therapeutic than strenuous. When I work outside planting and digging and building a new landscape around my home, I'm thinking of nothing else. My mind is focused, yet clear all at the same time. There are no distractions, no stray thoughts of bills or proposals, clients or phone calls, things to do and places to go... it's just me and nature. I realized that it is specifically this focused yard work that allows me to rejuvenate and revive my spirit, find clarity, and balance. There are many things I do besides work, but few give me the balance I find thru landscaping.

I'm all to thankful to be aware of this!

I think you paraphrased it accurately, Jerry. We need to get out of our comfort zones, because there is no new learning there. We're already our own "master of time, space & dimension" in that very limited view. Until we smell that sweet breath of fresh air from another "place", we can't engage our brains in new thinking, learning and discovery.

My favorite scent of discovery in another place is the smell of a city waking up; coffee from a local spot, diesel fumes of trucks making pickups and deliveries and yes, even refuse. I know it sounds weird, but sense memory is one of the strongest and this reminds me of the vibrancy of progress and the fact that cities are living organisms. It's powerful and palatable.

Jerry,
Thanks for the good post...again! I will give an example of this from the work side. Yesterday I found out that I didn't win a bid on a very large project. I have recently changed the specific focus of my business, and this huge project would have been part of the OLD focus. I am SO lucky that I didn't get the job! I love the new focus, but the prospect of a really large job that would have dominated my time was too much to turn away from. BUT, it would have taken me away from my NEW focus. I feel lucky that it didn't work out...and today I am more focused on the NEW focus of my business. Please...no more BST's!

Thanks Shawn, I agree with you and that is an insightful comment. Making to do lists can be very useful and many people use BSTs as "rewards" for completing the chores!

We just need to be aware when a shiny thing comes up that we recognize it and then decide what we are going to do with it!

Jerry (and Toby),

Another way to approach this is to keep track of key things you have to do and make sure you do those first.

Then if you get sidetracked by all the cool fun stuff that's out there, you're still on track and maybe you found a new BST!

My $0.02

Shawn
